I got sent a mail this morning with some (well we can hardly call it earth shattering news but merely an Oh really ...nod of the head murmurring mhmm noises, kind of info)... info about what side of your car your petrol tank is on... Although I'm not sure if it is true or not so I'll check when I go to my car later...

The Worlds Best Kept Auto Secret

I have been driving (legally) for over a decade. One would think I would have noticed the little secret on my dash that was staring me right in the face the whole time.  I didn't and I bet you probably haven't either.

Quick question, what side of your car is your gas tank? If you are anything like me, you probably can't remember right away.  My solution is to uncofortably stick my head out the window, strain my neck and look.  If you don't do this in your own car you definetly have done it in a borrowed or rental car.
Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to share with you my little secret so you will no longer look like Ace Ventura on your way to the gas station or put your neck at risk of uncomfort or injury.
If you look at your gas guage, you will see a small icon of a gas pump.  The handle of the gas pump will extend out on either the left or right side of the pump.  If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left.  If your tank is on the right, the handle will be on the right (see photo above). It is that simple!
I don't know how you feel right now but when I found out this morning I felt cheated!
Why don't the dealers share such importnant information with car buyers?  I don't understand why this isn't in the drivers ed manual?  I don't get why any mechanic I have ever been too or know has even thought of mentioning this to me?  The only possible explantion can be that all these people probably don't even know!
Go out and share the worlds best kept auto secret with your friends as this is information is way too important to be kept secret.

I'm hooked on Mahjong ...that great classic chinese puzzle game. I've tried many websites which aren't that taxing but have found this terrific site. I've been playing it for months ...I wish I could say I was getting good at it, but I have good days and bad days. It totally depends on your concentration. I don't play chess, but you need to use the ' 4 steps ahead' strategy  for playing Mahjong.

Try it ... my best time so far is 5mins 23 seconds.

I've got a bit of time on my hands today at work and this can lead to mischief making. I really want to be at home sorting things out for Halloween . The street I live in is a very child friendly street so lots of kids around...which means trick or treaters chapping on the door when I get home from work. I bought a really scary basin/jar/ vase thing that is in the shape of a head, well a scary goggly eyed dracula head with legs...A mere description can't do it justice, so I'll need to take a pic and post it later. So that's what I'm putting the goodies in,  for the kids to dip into when they come a chappin.....and when I answer the door I'll shake the head and scare them to death....or maybe not ....kids don't scare easily these days.

I've also got the guy coming tonight to have a look at my kitchen ...I'm getting my new kitchen fitted this weekend...wooo hooo..!!
Sad that at my age I get excited about kitchens!!

I'll need to take pics of before and after the kitchen is done.

I've been hooked on the series Tenko that's been showing for the past couple of weeks and every morning I set the recorder to tape the show (it's only on during the day when I'm at work) but when I get home I sit down with a nice cuppa and watch mesmerised. The ware has ended and the women are now free!! but the story line has more to go. I don't want it to end.

I wish they would repeat more shows like this ones from the TV archives that were great to watch.. like Widows.
I love old shows like Upstairs Downstairs, Juliet Bravo and All creatures Great and Small.
I also love watching old reruns of Hill Street Blues, Cagney and Lacey, ER and many more even though I can remember vaguely the storylines. They're great.

New TV programes that I like to watch are Property Ladder with Sarah Beeney, Heroes (although 45 mins per week is a dragging it out a bit), EggHeads...although CJ is such a twat, The dog Whisperer and  ER. Actually there aren't that many shows on that are compelling to watch. Hey ho,  perhaps I'll should do something more interesting instead!!

So I suppose I should do some work or something ...

So I have had an extremely busy year, work wise. Moving warehouses is not an easy job, but someone has to do it. So I have now finished the German warehouse move (all but the clean up) and still had 4 weeks holidays still to take! So I took a week off, all to myself.I had things to do in the house and garden to tidy up things I had started and never got around to finishing. Like....papering one strip of wallpaper in my bebroom and then painting. I had to paint my kitchen doors (waiting for the new kitchen to get fitted....sigh...I've been waiting for months for the joiner to be free, hope it's in before Christmas!) Then I had to tidy up the garden. I've also planted some new plants....Red Hot Pokers and some nice Cornflowers, which won't appear until March, but they're in now.
I also had time to go for some nice walks in Glennifer Braes Country Park, it's just up the road from me and yet I've not explored it enough. I also took some pics while we were up there which I've attached.
I love the Autumn (never had much of a summer so I'd better make the most of the other seasons!)
Back to work this week, but working from home for the first couple of days to get my car sorted out. I was going to the airport to pick up Cee when someone ran into the back of me. I was sitting at a Give Way sign when wham . thunk...bang goes my back bumper. I had just had it serviced and MOT'd too and was just thinking how well it was driving and how I loved my lttle car....well now it has to go in for repair. It has kind of put me off my wee red roadster now, thats the second time someone has hit it and it was just going along minding it's own business...I think I'll keep it for another 6 months then trade it in, but I don't know what car will be able to replace it....Need to keep an eye out for another model that takes my fancy... so here are some Autumn shots...

I've been quite busy at work but very unsettled. I can't seem to settle in work or at home, wanting to do something but I don't know what. I guess in work I'm a bit unsettled as there are redundancy talks and it seems like the company has been running down the workforce for some time now. My sister left last month (she worked in the same firm as me) and I'm now psyching myself up for moving to another job elsewhere....it's not easy after 18 years in the one company.

I'm also looking to the future and have decided to buy a flat and rent it out....so I need to get my finger out and get this sorted. This will be more responsibility though ...so maybe that's what 's putting me off.

I usually do a lot of things at the weekends visiting places or going out to dinner etc. but lately I've been feeling flat ...like last weekend we went to the Film Festival in Glasgow Green and Ok the weather wasn't that great , but there was no excitement in it. Can you go through a mid life crisis at 42 ?

I don't think it helps that I don't currently have a girlfriend...and I have been having funny dreams about meeting an old girflriend from years ago....honestly it has been about 3 -4 times in the last 2 weeks that I've had dreams about meeting her or her sisters...and even one about her mother dying.!! How strange is that.!!
I've not spoken to this particular girl in years....although she was my first true love...
Anyway that's another thing, maybe I'll join up to an on line dating agency, 'cos I'm not really a scene type of girl so how am I ever going to meet someone....???

Anyone else had on line dating experiences??

So I've been away on holiday to the Lake District. I would like to say it was scorching all thetime but unfortunately it wasn't. Still it didn't stop us getting out and about. Walked for 4 hours one day and suffered for 24 hrs the next. Visited the Bird of Prey centre and watched the display. It was great. My sisters both got to handle a Harris hawk and feed it ...chicken.
They don't really hunt for themselves since they are 'captive'. Now and again they might catch something but not always.

We shopped, walked and ate our way throught the holiday. It was really relaxing, even just to be away from work.
Whe we got back I had another week off work, to lounge about the house. I got loads done. I set up my computer to watch TV on but before that I had to drop an aerial cable down from the loft (watching the Simpson as I type). While I was doing this I also dropped another cable down to my bedroom so now I can watch Digital TV in bed.
So my sis Cee has moved into her new house and left devastation behind. I spent a day getting my house back in order, reclaiming wardrobes and my home office.
I got the garage sorted out, worked in the garden and even fitted in a visit to the dentist. I'm thinking of getting my teeth whitened but will need to wait 'til I get paid next month, 'cos I've got a new kitchen to pay for. If I won the lotto I would give up work straight away. I don't understand people who say they would get bored if they didn't have work to go to. I've never got enough time to do all I want to do.
Well I'm back at work now, cruising along for the time being. My sis Lou also works in the same company as me...or did until she was made redundant. She is not too upset though as she is wanting to take up therapeutic massage as a career. She already does aromatherpy massage but is taking a new course to extend this into the therapeutic side of it. She's very good. She has to do practice massages and uses us as guinea pigs which is great when you have aches and pains or are stressed out. My work place is slowly releasing people bit by bit whilst the majority of the work is getting outsourced to India or Poland or Slovakia. It is the way most manufacturing industries in Britain are going. My job could be a bit ropey, so since Lou left I've been thinking of what I could do when I get the bullet....not an easy task.

Never mind I'm sure somthing will pull me .

Any way need to go and make dinner now.

My sister has been staying with me for the past 5/6 months as she was being redeployed in her job. Because of this she decided to move from London back up to Scotland. Not an easy task after so many years down south.
So after the decision was made, her house was sold, much packing was done and she moved in with me until she could get a home of her own up here.
Needless to say it takes time to find the right place. Then it takes time to paint decorate, lay carpets, get the garden sorted, move furniture and belongings in etc etc.
You may be able to tell my sister likes things to be just so in her house, unlike me . I could move in and decorate and lay flooring or change light sockets as I went along, but C needs everything done before she would even consider moving. Not that I minded, 'cos I had a bit of company to go home to. Someone to do my ironing, share the cooking with and figth with over the remote control for the telly. . And now that she has finally moved in to her house, I was at a bit of a loss what to do. It was funny having to get up in the morning and make my own tea. Strange. But I'm sure this won't last for long. She has been round for her tea every night since she moved out , so I'm not on my own for long  ;-)
Sisters and brothers are important people in your life. I'm glad I've got 2 of each!

Families ...you can chose them, unlike friends!

Just got sent this ...it really shows how your eyes can play tricks on you...

This will drive you crazy.....it's interesting to say the least.....

These are very interesting - be sure to take the time to observe # 7 as instructed - they are all amazing...

1)

Is This Possible??

2)

 3)

Are the purple lines straight or bent?

4)

Do you see gray areas in between the squares?

 5)

You should see a man's face and also a word...
Hint: Try tilting your head to the right, the world begins with 'L'

6)

If you take a look at the following picture, let me tell you .... it is not animated. Your eyes are making it move. To test this, stare at one spot for a couple seconds and everything will stop moving. Or look at the black center of each circle and it will stop moving. But move your eyes to the next black center and the previous will move after you take your eyes away f rom itWeird ?
